Job Purpose · Responsible for supervising drivers on site and providing field training. · To support Product Care Limited’s delivery and installation programme of large domestic appliances (i.e. washing machines, tumble dryers, dishwashers, refrigeration etc.) as part of a one or two man team. A flexible approach to shift work is mandatory. · To attend engineer call out requests from customers and apply relevant knowledge and good customer service in order to complete installation to a high standard and with appropriate efficiency. · To test, repair and refurbish white goods for resale in line with the company procedures. · To comply with all legal regulations with regards to driving, to take adequate breaks, and maintain safe driving practices at all times. · To undertake various projects/tasks as directed by Home Delivery Team Leader / Head of Home Delivery · To undertake miscellaneous tasks as required supporting the effective running of the business. Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities Supervisory Responsibilities · Responsible for ensuring drivers arrive on time to start their shift, reporting any lateness to Home Delivery Senior Driver and ensure vehicles depart at specified time. · Check vehicles for any signs of damage which may have not been reported · Observe uniform standards and PPE to ensure all drivers comply · Supervise vehicle checks ensuring they are carried out thoroughly and relevant paperwork completed. Complete any defect action reports following required procedure for fleet manager. No vehicles are to leave the yard without the relevant checks completed and signed off by Senior Driver/yourself · Ensure drivers complete product counts and any issues addressed · Responsible for ensuring drivers are fully equipped to complete the deliveries including trucks, straps, phones, sat nav, toolboxes and report any issues to Home Delivery Senior Driver. · Responsible for ensuring all routes are correctly manned, finding replacement drivers to cover absences or re-arrange drivers accordingly. Check for complaints to avoid cancelling/amending these routes. Inform route planning of any impact on 2 man deliveries if the required number of drivers is not available. · In conjunction with the Home Delivery Senior Driver, decide whether it is safe to depart in bad weather. · Provide field training for agency staff and new starters as requested by Home Delivery Senior Driver and complete the required documentation · To communicate procedural changes to home delivery as advised by the Home Delivery Senior Driver onto the Home Delivery Drivers and record signatures. · Provide a daily email to Home Delivery Team detailing any issues that have occurred. · Provide a daily phone call to the Home Delivery Senior Driver to report and update on any issues · Provide daily phone call to Senior Driver regarding queries/issues/damages · The Home Delivery Supervisors vehicle should be the last to depart after all other routes have safely departed. Delivery and Installation of Appliances · To provide excellent customer service. · Complete the loading and/or unloading of appliances by hand or with the use of a hand truck. · Complete the removal of existing appliances, installation, testing and/or adjusting of appliance in customers home. · To provide assistance and guidance in the proper use of the appliances once fitted. · To perform any other installation services as necessary. · To obtain signed proof of delivery and complete other paperwork as deemed necessary. · Take responsibility for allocated vehicle, PDA, all tools and equipment. Engineer servicing and Call out requests · To provide excellent customer service. · To use relevant knowledge and experience to diagnose and repair faults for installed domestic appliances. · To always leave your work area in a safe and tidy manner. · To complete relevant paperwork. Driving Safely · Take responsibility for vehicle checks at the start/end of a shift. · To follow the legal driving regulations at all times as set by EU standards. · To take adequate and compulsory breaks during driving hours to comply with EU driving standards. · To maintain a safe standard of driving. R efurbishment · To package refurbished electrical goods safely and securely in-line with company procedures to ensure they remain safe while in transit between warehouses and whilst on route to the customer and return from customer property back to warehouse. · To communicate any significant or recurring faults identified with particular models to Home Delivery Team Leader. Other · Applicants to this role should have an interest in pursuing a career in Appliance engineering, and should have excellent communication and customer service skills. · This role is predominantly vehicle based. · C1 license is desirable but not essential.
