Purpose of role: To lead, nurture, manage and grow a team of passionate digital professionals. You will have overall responsibility for all digital projects coming through the agency including, but not limited to websites, emails, online campaigns, mobile applications and interactive tools. Reporting to the Creative Director your focus will be on ensuring that digital creative excellence is integral to all of our digital work and that the team work in close collaboration with all creative peers. Key responsibilities To drive innovation and creative excellence in front-end development To be hands on and lead by example by leveraging your skills on live projects To be client facing where required on project scoping and development To review and feedback on front-end development quality and consistency To manage the back end developers ensuring process and quality are adhered to To provide training and share knowledge to the digital design and development team To be lead on most digital projects in the agency, assigning responsibility to other developers according to requirements and skillset To ensure all outputs meet agreed accessibility and web standards To work closely with strategy team, where required, for digital campaigns To help grow the agency’s digital business by delivering market-leading work To demonstrate the ability to fully understand and follow briefs and processes To show awareness and understanding of each client’s brand guidelines, ensuring all digital work adheres to them To work with the Creative Service Managers to provide accurate estimates for digital work To coach junior members of the digital team, providing guidance, direction and critique of work To recruit new members of the digital team as required To support pitch teams by supplying relevant work to present to clients To act as an internal digital evangelist and enthuse staff about the latest digital applications To identify opportunities and put forward submissions for industry awards To remain up-to-date with the most common digital techniques, procedures and applications and be able to apply these to our clients’ businesses in a timely and appropriate manner To manage relationships between internal team members and digital developers smoothly and professionally To deliver production tasks on time and on budget To accurately interpret digital feedback and deliver amends To have an awareness of social media, and to be able to assist, when required, with the agency’s social media content development including Linkedin, Facebook, Twitter and blogging Hold company awareness sessions highlight latest digital trends Essential skills and attributes Digital and creative skills UX/UI Wireframing Responsive design development and frameworks InDesign / Photoshop / Illustrator CSS / JQuery / HTML5 / PHP / Javascript Strategic Thinker Able to think strategically, taking a long term view, weighing up pros and cons Good creative judgment Organisational skills Well organised with the ability to multi task Able to ‘pool’ resources to get the job done Able to accurately estimate development time on jobs Able to prioritise workloads for self and others, able to cope under pressure and work to tight deadlines Manage Others Able to effectively manage others Able toget the best from others through encouragement and involvement Client Focus Able to deal confidently with clients as and when required Able to see the ‘big picture’ for the client Communication Skills Able to communicate clearly and concisely Excellent verbal, written and presentation skills Adaptability Able to move quickly and adapt to changing circumstances Enthusiasm Enthusiastic about delivering strong creative digital solutions and striving to be the best Able to enthuse and motivate others Confident and positive attitude Initiative Able to use own initiative to ensure smooth running of work Able to problem solve for self and others What’s in it for you?
