Precision engineering company, working primarily in the aerospace sector as well as medical, off-shore, high vacuum and laser measuring equipment. Having recently moved to a new, purpose built factory in Exeter they are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer/Quality Manager. Primary focus will be to introduce and drive a cultural of continues improvement through monitoring quality performance and taking appropriate action to improve where required. Candidates will ideally have experience of working within the Aerospace industry and marinating quality approvals to AS9100, but they will consider candidates from similar precision engineering/manufacturing environments. Roles and Responsibilities Organise and prioritise the inspection department work load to ensure that product is fully compliant Oversee the development and training of the inspection team to support the business Ensure that regular and meaningful patrol inspections are carried out on the shop floor Ensure quality is manufactured in to the parts by machine operators and regular grass-root inspection is conducted on the production machines Develop and maintain suitable meaningful KPI's with the quality team and production manager and supervisors Establish working relationships with shop floor staff, section supervisors and senior managers to improve quality internally and with customers Produce relevant quality data for management meetings Update the Customer performance data as required every month, co-ordinating input from the management team Utilise quality performance tools wherever necessary to improve quality awareness and performance Monitor and feedback to our various treatment sub-contractors regarding issues of quality and develop the need for them to accept responsibility and improve delivered quality Maintenance of quality approvals AS9100, ISO9001, ISO14001, SC21 Key Skills Required Knowledge of precision engineering An effective but diplomatic communicator with a collaborative approach Professional customer facing skills An ability to organise people and workload to meet customer and business requirements Must lead by example and encourage, inspire and motivate staff Ability to work with all levels from the senior management team to the shop floor staff This job was originally posted as www.cwjobs.co.uk/job/66862251
