School Marketing Content Manager Term time (34 weeks), plus 3-4 weeks. Full or part time applicants welcomed. Our client is a long-established independent co-educational school set in 400 acres of an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty on the Sussex Downs with more than 600 pupils and almost 180 staff. An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Marketing Content Manager to To assist the Marketing Manager in the smooth running of the school’s Marketing department. The successful Marketing Content Manager will have experience in a similar digital marketing or creative communications position, including blogging, website content, SEO and social media with the highest standards of written communication, grammar, spelling and proof-reading skills. Experience within an independent or state school environment and/or independent schools’ marketing is advantageous, but not essential. This role is full time but could also be tailored to candidates who would prefer a part-time position. Due to the nature of this role the successful candidate will be subject to an Enhanced DBS assessment. Your duties as a Marketing Content Manager will include: Supporting the Marketing and Communications Manager to develop, create, update and maintain content for press releases, blogs, website and social media. Working on a strategic marketing plan in association with and with direction from the Marketing and Communications Manager Working along-side colleagues to ensure the school’s Social Media presence is up-to-date and in-line with other online messaging including the website. Supporting accuracy and proof reading of school material. Writing, tracking, monitoring and developing press release coverage in the local / national press and magazines. Developing and maintaining good relationships with key media contacts to ensure copy is relevant, timely and published. Responsibility for video shooting and editing. Responsibility for CRM (customer relationship marketing) to build strong relationships with prospective parents, alumni and other stakeholders. Clarification of house style and branding. Covering for the Marketing and Communications manager where required and during holiday periods. Organising and occasionally social events, e.g. Community Action Day. The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and qualities: Proven experience in a similar digital marketing or creative communications position, including blogging, website content, SEO and social media. Excellent organisational and communication skills, including the highest standards of written communication. Grammar and spelling are prerequisites, including a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience within an independent or state school environment and/or independent schools’ marketing is advantageous, but not essential. An understanding of website SEO, Meta Tags, CRM and databases is an advantage but not essential. The ability to shoot and/or edit video is an advantage but not essential. The ability to prioritise and work to deadlines. Self-motivated and flexible with a ‘can-do’ approach. Salary and reward package: Salary £23,000 - £30,000 FTE (pro rata for part-time) depending on skills and experience. Pension. Meals on duty. Free parking. Use of 9-hole golf course.
