Role / Purpose To manage all aspects of the company’s apprenticeship programme requirements. Essentially this role requires someone to fully set up and coordinate the apprenticeship processes and requirements from advertising and recruitment to retention and future development campaigns. Delivery of a range of projects across the business for a range of departments, with a focus on delivering excellence through apprentice development whilst confidently building relationships with internal stakeholders and external providers. Maximising on the use of the Apprenticeship Levy to increase the effectiveness of the business and with business aims and objectives in mind. Key Responsibilities Initial responsibility will be to set up an apprenticeship programme fit for purpose for the Utilitywise business and specific departments, to include: Liaise with departmental heads to ensure their needs are met, developing specific Job Descriptions and Person Specs and understanding numbers and levels required (both new apprentices joining the business and internal learners) Develop and write an apprenticeship strategy and plan with clear success measures that will be established to evaluate progress, impact and to inform future plans Selecting and managing Training Providers ensuring they adhere to a pre defined SLA and can demonstrate best value. Monitor and evaluate training provider assessors for best practice and professional standards Advise and manage access to relevant and appropriate experience/situations to enable apprentices to successfully complete qualification. Keeping up to date with local apprenticeship market trends, changes to legislation and access to any free funding Working with the Learning and Development department to continuiusly develop the programme Set up best practice models to be shared across the business to encourage sustainability and growth and demonstrate equality and diversity in areas such as recruitment, training and career development Develop monitoring reports for all learners to enable progress to be reported Identifying talent for the company, ensuring that these individuals are excited by the apprenticeship route and regard Utilitywise as their employer of choice Be the administrative first line point of contact for all internal and external recruitment queries and requirements regarding Apprentices Coordinating and facilitating training events and workshops to support the development of apprentices in required skills Support the coordination and completion of apprenticeship mentoring meetings between Managers, Training Provider and Apprentice Raise awareness of apprenticeships in schools and colleges to those candidates that would not necessarily choose contact centre as a career option to encourage a broader diversity of applications Ensure that Recruitment, HR & L&D departments are kept full up to date with the progress and metrics of the apprenticeship programme Setting up relevant KPIs to ensure success of the programme Reporting throughout the apprenticeship programme, including financial reporting on use of levy from April 2017 and progress of all individuals within the apprentice programme including reporting and presentations at board level The Person Essential Qualifications: Level 2, 5 GSCSEs or Equivalent Essential Experience: Experience of initiating, developing and managing an apprentice programme to suit specific business and departmental needs Experience of selecting and procuring a training provider and SLAs to fit the Utilitywise organisation Experience of both the apprenticeship model and supporting training organisations Recruitment knowledge and experience including competency based interviews Ability to report progress and present reports to People Operations team and to the Utilitywise Board Budget management - proven experience of managing a budget and reporting on the budget spend and resulting impact on the organisation Desirable Experience Previous experience in project management, managing and completing effective projects Setting and managing KPIs Personal Qualities, aptitudes and skills: Excellent organisational and time management skills Excellent administration and IT skills, including Powerpoint and Excel Strong collaborative working skills Engaging communication and presentation skills Why work for Utilitywise?
