We are seeking a candidate who is a rounded communication professional. The candidate should have relevant vocational training in a related discipline. Ideally a communications qualification or at least evidence of a commitment to advance technical expertise through qualifications/professional development. Researching & amp; supporting communications/external relations activity Developing briefings for senior managers to enable them to take opportunities to build profile/influence and manage risks to our reputation. Collating and actively sharing stakeholder research/intelligence, including media evaluation. Using this information in stakeholder analysis. Researching stories to generate/respond to media interest, developing case studies/assembling facts, identifying spokespeople and supporting interviews. Assisting with communications and reputation management during crises/incidents Identifying stories for internal newsletters, advising on internal communication channels, etc Mentoring colleagues in community relations and helping them to develop other communication skills (writing; speaking plan English, etc) Planning, tracking, evaluating & reporting communications/external relations activity Supporting the development and implementation of communication/campaign plans and stakeholder engagement programmes, by scheduling resources and monitoring and reporting on progress (inc. budgets/milestones/impacts) Horizon-scanning, tracking and reporting on issues of high public interest. Gathering intelligence and judging its relevance (technically and politically) Carrying out communications/external relations activity Proactively engaging with communities on issues of high public interest to help build trust and understand and address concerns Person can be based at one of our offices in Solihull, Kidderminster, Tewkesbury or Lichfield.
