Reference Number 014827 Location Garscube Campus College / Service COLLEGE OF MVLS Department RI CANCER SCIENCES Job Family Research And Teaching Position Type Full Time Salary Range £41,709 - £48,327 Job Purpose To make a leading contribution to the Scottish Genome Partnership (SGP), which will be handling next-generation sequencing (NGS) data for existing cancer patient cohorts and rapid turnaround diagnostics for new patients using a state-of-the-art in-house Illumina X sequencing facility. Specifically: To maintain and run established NGS analysis workflows and develop novel workflows, manage incoming data, and ensure rigid quality control measures in support of patient diagnostics are being met. To work with colleagues at WWCRC and the NHS on improving automation, throughput and keeping workflows current. Salary will be on the University’s Research and Teaching Grade, level 7, £33,943 - £38,183 or level 8, £41,709 - £48,327 per annum, depending on experience. The funding for this post is for 2 years in the first instance. New entrants to the University will be required to serve a probationary period of 6 months. The successful applicant will be eligible to join the Universities' Superannuation Scheme.
