My client are a global business consultancy offering a range of professional services to clients that include training, group buying, marketing, telecoms, accountancy and business advice. They have an exciting new role for a Head of Innovation to help deliver exciting new products and services to market. Overview: To successfully lead the development of new and innovative products and services in line with global strategy. To deliver sustainable, profitable growth by understanding market needs, analysing trends and creating a product process and pipeline which delivers budgeted revenues and contribution. Skills/Attributes Required: Strong B:B experience Commercial acumen Numerate, finance capable Customer knowledge and insight Possess an understanding of all functional areas of business (marketing, sales, operations, finance and HR) Primary Responsibilities: Market Analysis - needs and trends are identified and potential opportunities identified, using internal and external sources of data, insight and market knowledge. Coherent plans are in place to systemically capture insights and guide plans. Innovation Process - a process is created and implemented to generate and manage the effective development of new opportunities with appropriate controls and project management to support the successful implementation of innovation. Innovation Pipeline- a pipeline of new opportunities in created which supports the company in achieving expected levels of growth and profit, engages with key stakeholders and provides forward visibility to relevant teams to allow proper and effective management of opportunities. Budgeted Revenue and Profit - delivers NPD revenues and profits to meet company expectations in line with long term strategy and budget. Effective, motivated & high performing teams - supports all teams to capture ideas and to manage the development of innovation in a controlled environment Champion company culture & values/policies & procedures - acts as an ambassador for the company internally and externally and aligns actions with overall global and company strategy Education/Experience Required: Business degree or similar (MBA preferred). Key Challenges: Identifying sufficient opportunities of the right type - says no to inappropriate revenue streams Compliance with standards and process vs desire to be creative and innovative Delivery & align with global strategy v local plans/requirements. Prioritisation/multi project on the same resources and managing conflicting demands with limited resource Remaining available and responsive, whist maximising personal utilisation and efficiency. Negotiating the many conflicting priorities and demand on time and internal resources by constantly monitoring urgency and importance Office hours: 07:30-16:30 The position offers a fantastic salary, company car, pension, healthcare and subsidised lunches.
