You must have insurance or financial services experience with a professional services background. The Role of the Solution Architect Our client is hiring solutions architects to join their insurance or financial services consulting practice. They are looking for forward-thinking individuals with a professional services background who are able to bridge the divide between business and technical consulting. Working with the UK’s largest financial services organisations, you will be integral to the delivery of many client projects. This role is London based but will involve a significant amount of travel within the UK and will require flexibility. Responsibilities • Working with business and technical stakeholders on future product direction and technology capability • Contributing to architectural discussions to identify and conclude on architectural options for a given solution • Design, delivery and governance of end-to-end solutions from inception through to successful completion • Assisting with the coordination of other technical SME’s to support the delivery and implementation phases of a programme or project • Understanding the challenges and complexities that exists within each stream or area of a programme and be able to integrate these activities • Promoting co-operation and facilitate coordination of all technical and non-technical streams within a programme to achieve the successful delivery of an integrated solution • Working in a varied technical environment covering digital, applications and infrastructure • Working with our salespeople in pre-sales situations Essentials • Knowledge of the UK insurance or financial services markets and their business processes, key trends and value drivers • Skilled at explaining and presenting both solutions and rationale for decision making to a technical and non-technical audience via documentation and presentations • A strong understanding of key technical developments in your area of expertise • A sound approach to problem solving and ability to adapt rapidly to changing situations • A natural enthusiasm for and overall broad knowledge of a range of technologies • Impeccable written, spoken and presentation skills • Strong experience of the Microsoft suite including PowerPoint Technical skills and experience • Full project lifecycle delivery experience - including pre-sales, estimation, proposal & bid writing, project and team management • Technically aware of the integration sector (and the wider technology environment) with the ability to apply product capabilities to deliver effect solutions for our clients • Knowledge of, and experience in, the following would be an advantage: o Java, Linux, Amazon AWS / EC2 o Red Hat Enterprise Linux, JBoss Developer Studio, JBoss Fuse, EAP, PosgreSQL, JDK, Gradle o Oracle SOA Suite, o Oracle Business Intelligence - Data Warehousing o Informatica ETL o Salesforce o BMC o Qlick • Strong End to End (Enterprise) Solution Architecture/Design skills and the use of modelling tools. • Can performing Architect Impact Assessments and is able to produce High-level Design Documents • Experience of providing technical governance and quality assurance over architectural/design artefacts • Developing Technology Strategy and Roadmaps • Practical experience of Architecture Frameworks such as TOGAF, Archimate, Zachman If you would like to find out further details, please do apply.
