Are you an expert in UNIX or Linux administration? Would you like to work for a company that places an enormous importance on their IT department and invests millions of pounds to improve and develop its architecture? This is a fantastic opportunity to join the next stage of growth in our IT department, which already consists of over 100 people. Your average day as a Unix Systems Analyst will be diverse and full of a variety of tasks that are typical of a system administrator. To name a few; ensuring that the systems are maintained and managed in line with best practice, resolving service affecting issues, implementing changes to the systems, building new systems and environments, and providing technical guidance to other teams. We are looking for someone with a minimum of three years’ experience working as a system administrator on Linux or UNIX based systems. You should also have a sound knowledge of VMWare, Apache, and shell scripting (bash, python, perl, or ksh). An understanding or exposure to Puppet/Chef, Source control software (e.g. Subversion, Git), Glassfish/Tomcat/JBoss and Opsview/Nagios would be beneficial. Our ideal candidate will also enjoy both owning problems and working as a team to fix an issue. They will also be willing to take part in an on-call rota, as well as some out of hours work.
