An exciting opportunity has arisen for night shift Maintenance Fitters to work with the operations team to deliver general site housekeeping, maintenance and safe and efficient operation of the block plant. You will deliver the day to day of maintenance activities, which include planned preventative and reactive maintenance of production machinery in the manufacture of construction materials. Typical equipment includes heavy rollers, bearings, hydraulics, cogs, sprockets, conveyors, hoppers, mixers, discharge systems, moulds, kilns etc. You will specifically focus on a variety of duties on site including general housekeeping and basic maintenance, fault finding, inspections and upgrades or modifications. This is a physically active role. This busy site produces a full range of concrete dense blocks for the construction industry. You will ensure: Plant is maintained to a high standard Planned maintenance tasks are completed as planned Plant operates at required level All work is carried out and recorded on maintenance systems Plant operates in a safe manner All work is carried out and documented in line with company SHE policies Working as part of a dynamic operational team you will also be expected to undertake operative duties when necessary to cover for team members who are on holiday/training etc. to ensure the plant remains fully operational at times. The successful candidates will be experienced in all aspects of mechanical engineering and fitting, the maintenance of fixed plant, hydraulic equipment, welding and fabrication and some electrical knowledge to enable diagnosis of electrical faults. Candidates will ideally hold the following qualifications or time served : BTEC, C&G or NVQ in mechanical engineering or equivalent. You will be experienced with working with heavy plant and equipment and be comfortable working outdoors. The successful candidate will also need to be flexible to work shifts, weekends and additional hours when requested and hold a full driving license.
