We are recruiting for a Fibre Operations Director to help oversee daily management activities within the Network Operations Centre (NOC) overseeing the smooth operations of the Fibre-To-The-Home network. Responsible for the quality and performance of the fibre network and maintaining operational service levels to wholesale and residential customers served across the fibre business. Key Responsibilities: Leads, oversees and manages the Network Operations Centre (NOC) and Fibre Field Engineering teams. Drive Health & Safety initiates in to the fibre department to ensure the safety and wellbeing of its staff. Drive processes, working practices etc. development appropriate to a scaling network. Actively promotes a customer focused culture. Demonstrate key leadership skills driving forward the fibre business. Design, implement and maintain work procedures and policies. Monitor process performance using a continuous improvement philosophy to meet the operational needs of the organisation. Maintain and manage a working knowledge of the company’s network equipment and systems. Ensure all Fibre Network incidents follow the necessary escalation path and are resolved in a timely fashion. Maintain outage notification logs and act as prime escalation point during incident management. Plan network maintenance working with internal and external suppliers. Coordinate NOC and Field Support personnel to ensure continuous operation of mission critical production systems. Work closely with Network Engineering, Network Construction and Customer Services teams. Perform root cause analysis to identify and recommend operational changes. Act as the deputy to the Fibre Director assisting with all internal, external and management developments across the fibre business as and when required. Qualifications/Experience Experience in the following areas would be needed: Educated to degree level or equivalent in a related discipline or have relevant experience gained in the industry. Has extensive experience working within the telecommunications industry ideally for a telecommunications operator. Candidates would be required to have the following technical understandings: Knowledge and understanding of IP/Ethernet LAN/WAN networks. Detailed understanding of architectures used to deliver broadband services and knowledge of End Customer broadband router solutions Detailed understanding of architectures used to deliver voice services across an IP core network. Understanding of Network Management systems.
