Senior Supportability Engineer - RMT Edinburgh Senior Supportability Engineer: Located within one of the fastest growing industries, our client is currently searching for a Senior Supportability Engineer; an expert in the field of product Reliability and Maintainability of complex Defence systems. Senior Supportability Engineer Responsibilities: Perform reliability, maintainability and testability assessment and modelling activities on complex Radar and Electro-optical Systems. Manage a number of small RM&T work packages across different programmes and technologies within tight budgets and to challenging schedules. Work as effective in a multi-discipline engineering team to provide clear and timely input to the design process Assume full responsibility for technical standards and integrity of the decisions made within scope of own supportability engineering approval. Use both analysis techniques and experience to ensure that supportability related design features are identified early and documented in the design process with appropriate actions managed to ensure that products are fit for purpose. Actively contribute to engineering teams decisions. Identify improvements to process that can be adopted by the Engineering Teams. Key challenges will be with the reduction of reliability, maintainability and testability cost drivers. Seek, develop and share good practice and knowledge locally to continuously improve own practices. Senior Supportability Engineer Qualifications and Experience: Degree in relevant discipline (must encompass Electrical and Electronic Engineering). Experience of working in many of the design/ development phases of a product lifecycle preferably with some exposure to the on-going support of a product throughout its lifecycle. Knowledge of reliability, maintainability or testability assessment and modelling techniques. Able to perform Reliability Analysis from component level to full systems level assessment. Knowledge of Maintenance Task Analysis and Reliability Centred Maintenance. Generation and development of Failure Modes Effects Analysis (FMEA) and linkage to test. Requirements Knowledge of Reliability Hardware Test Techniques and Planning. Understanding of Failure Reporting and Corrective Action System (FRACAS) Processes. Experience of consolidating and presenting design related analysis as part of the contract design and phase review process.
