Materials Analyst is required to join a successful automotive component manufacturer As a Materials Analyst you will be responsible for formulating and issuing supplier schedules, using the IFS system, controlling the Inventory levels and fully ensuring continuity of supply to the shop floor. Hours of work: Monday-Thursday 8am to 4.45pm, Friday 8am to 1pm; there's a possibility the person will be required to work the afternoon shift every fifth week. As Materials Analyst key responsibilities will include: Ensuring that the requirements of the shop floor are understood by making sure that all resources – supplier parts, blanks, etc. are delivered in line with job requirements whilst minimizing on site stock Understand, and report on capacity planning issues and forward load requirements, complete and manage reporting whilst challenging non-conformance. Clearly define scheduling requirements throughout manufacturing area and highlighting continuous improvement requirements to IFS system. Liaise with internal and external personnel to ensure customer deliveries are complete, all data input accurately, efficiently and outcomes achieved. Develop and maintain good working relationships with internal and external personnel, communicating to facilitate cost effective and efficient working Ensure 5S principles are adhered to and also working effectively to optimize manufacturing performance. Ensure all relevant planning details and reports are available as required. To assist colleagues and management team in ad hoc projects as necessary Provide solutions and countermeasures where appropriate then produce plan of action to implement improvements. Provide feedback on any highlighted issues within any of the systems under direct control. Take an active role in managing full health and safety awareness. Confirm PPE requirements are understood. Ensure that the H&S concerns are included in the work instructions. The quality standards to be achieved are understood by you. Achievement of right first time quality across the company. Introduce quality control systems to support CPA processes. To be successful in the role of Materials Analyst you will have the following skills and experience: Able to demonstrate by providing examples of relevant practical experience of material planning in a first tier automotive environment, ideally in a low mix/ high volume environment Customer orientated, self-starter with extensive knowledge of modern lean manufacturing techniques and their application in a supply chain environment. Able to demonstrate by providing examples of relevant practical of dealing with ERP system. Must have an aptitude for figure work and be computer literate. Experience and capability to ensure accuracy and timely reporting of existing KPI’s, and to further develop where required.
