Quality Engineer Our client is a leader in the design and manufacture of streetlighting equipment in the UK. Their product range spans the on-street installation of lighting from electrical distribution to control. Their leading position has been reached through constant innovation in both their products and service. Position: Quality and Environmental Engineer Location: Halifax, West Yorkshire Salary: £Competitive About the role: Continuous improvement of their products, processes and services is paramount to the success of the business. The Quality Engineer will be tasked with continuing recent successes in this area by developing and implementing improvement initiatives to the quality management and environmental management systems for both the Sowerby Bridge and Milton Keynes manufacturing sites. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and implementing processes and policies to ensure that the company is manufacturing the highest quality product in line with established procedures and to customer requirements, bringing any quality issues to the attention of management as soon as they are identified and driving them through the quality process. Responsibilities: - Responsible for maintaining and implementing the company’s QMS and EMS to drive continuous improvement and ensure compliance with ISO 9001, ISO 14001 - Responsible for ensuring continuing compliance to environmental legislation - Carry out internal quality and environmental system process and supplier audits as required - Prepare for and accompany external auditors from both customers and external assessment bodies - Work with the procurement department and suppliers to ensure that purchased products and sub-contracted operations meet the requirements of the company quality standards and operating procedures - Drive continuous improvement initiatives, identifying specific problem areas and implementing agreed corrective actions to eliminate root causes and repeated quality concerns - Develop problem-solving skills and deploy training throughout the organisation - Produce and issue monthly reports for the QMS and EMS - Organise and chair production QA meetings to identify issues and agree actions to resolve - Process customer complaints and implement corrective and preventive actions - Maintain the calibration system About you: - A recognised qualification in Quality Assurance and or relevant experience in a similar QA role - Be able to demonstrate understanding of ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 - Internal audit experience in a similar industry / environment - A history of dealing with customers and suppliers in similar industries / environments - Strong written and verbal communication skills. - IT literate (excel, word etc.) - Full UK driving licence and willingness to visit UK suppliers and customers - Familiarity with ISO 9001:2015 and ISO14001:2015 - Experience of BS OHAS 18001 would be an advantage You may have experience of the following: Quality Engineer, QHSE Engineer, Supplier Quality Engineer, Continuous Improvement, ISO9001, ISO14001, OHSAS18001, Quality Engineering, Manufacturing, Internal Audit, Supplier Audits, QMS, EMS, Route Cause, Corrective Action, Preventive Action, Process Improvement, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by EasyWeb Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
