Geo-Environmental Consultant, Southampton
Summary Are you a geo-environmental Consultant looking to take the next step in your career? The successful applicant will have 1-3 years consultancy experience as they will be expected to project manage a wide range of geo-environmental projects along with taking responsibility for the financial performance and commercial management of Phase 1 Desk Studies and Phase 2 Site Investigation projects. The successful candidate will be enthusiastic, confident, self-motivated and willing to take the initiative, with excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ideally you will have a master's degree or equivalent in a geo-environmental discipline and be progressing towards Chartership with a relevant professional institution. Location Southampton Responsibilities Phase I and Phase II investigations and Phase III remediation Project planning Completion of appropriate scheduling of laboratory testing, Site monitoring Data assessment Reporting and financial performance. Capabilities and Qualifications: Candidate must have: Qualification to MSc level (or equivalent) in a geo-environmental related discipline such as civil engineering, geology, engineering geology, environmental science or physical geography. Strong geo-environmental background experience and skills including in depth understanding of the geo-environmental, land contamination and remediation aspects of development projects. Extensive Phase I and Phase II investigation experience Sound understanding of current and emerging environmental legislation. Experience of delivering contaminated aspects of development projects through the planning framework. Ability to write technically sound and commercially focused proposals and reports. Excellent communication skills including oral, written and presentation skills. Highly motivated and adaptable with solution orientated approach.
