Maintenance Engineer required for a global Automotive Manufacturing company, based in Cannock. As a Maintenance Engineer you will have an electrical bias, but possess a sounds understanding and working knowledge of mechanical maintenance You will be responsible for carrying out fault finding activities and undertake timely repair of equipment in the following areas; Robotics, PLC’s, Electrical Control Systems, Hydraulics and Pneumatics, whilst undertaking planned preventative maintenance activities on automated production facilities. Key Responsibilities of the Maintenance Engineer include: Fast response to plant stoppages, ensuring key process achieves maximum uptime. Prioritising workloads, within the response/breakdown environment. Carrying out routine maintenance, and renovating worn components. Improvements to current equipment to achieve a faster cycle time, close QPRs, improve product flow. Adherence to departmental systems and looking at analyzed data to improve departmental efficiency which is governed by production OEE rates Programming, fault diagnosis, servicing and repair of motoman robots, rotary positioners and mig spot welding equipment. Prepare technical reports to analyze breakdown causes and make recommendations on countermeasures. Support equipment commissioning and installation projects To be successful in the role of Maintenance Engineer , you may have previously worked as an Electrical Maintenance Engineer, Maintenance Technician, Multi-Skilled Engineer, Robotic technician or Assembly technician. You will have the following knowledge & experience: City & Guilds 17th edition regulations Completed a recognised electrical or mechatronic apprenticeship HNC / ONC electrical qualifications preferred Experience within Automotive Manufacturing Reasonable level of mechanical aptitude including welding, fabrication and mechanical fitting IT literacy, applications such as, Word, Excel, AutoCAD Experience with PLC (programmable logic controllers) and HMI’s (human machine interface) Experience with pneumatic and hydraulic systems Have experience in welding technology and if possible the maintenance of welding equipment Ability to work as part of a team or under own initiative.
