The Lead Project Manager will be responsible for leading & managing the Project Managers who are responsible for ensuring that a project or group of projects is delivered to budget, programme and to a high quality. The role holder will carry all line management responsibility for the team including, recruitment, development, effective performance management and resource planning. The LPM will also act as the senior Project Management authority within the team, advising the project managers and taking responsibility for the mentoring and supporting the development of the less experienced Project Managers. The role holder will also work with the Head of Projects (HoP) to drive continuous improvement within the organisation. The LPM will also be responsible for ensuring that any assigned projects are delivered to budget, programme and to a high quality whilst effectively managing health and safety. Principally based in the UK Head Office in Edinburgh, although there will be regular travel required to project sites and customer meetings in mainland Europe or other subsidiaries in order to build relationships and share best practise. Principle Accountabilities ? Managing and developing the project managers ? Providing a senior level of expertise and advice to the Project managers, for example, advising on delivery of more complex projects. ? Aligning overall schedule of projects using input from the Site and Installation team and the commercial PM ? Supporting the development and integration of less experienced project managers. Through, for example, production of development plans and ensuring support is available where needed during the delivery of projects. ? Reporting on overall project progress - to the Hub and the headquarter ? Responsible for the management of the project lifecycle for allocated Northern Europe projects from sales negotiation to service handover through building and leading effective project teams and ensuring effective delivery (safety, budget, programme and quality). ? Responsible for down-selecting UK suppliers and placement of contracts of up to £4M to ensure quality subcontractors are selected and projects are delivered effectively ? Responsible for Health & Safety on project sites during the project delivery stage by ensuring all staff are adequately trained on site, processes and procedures are in place and they are being adhered to ? Work closely with other departments including Sales, Lifecycle Engineering, Service in order to ensure the projects are delivered profitably for the whole business and also to improve systems and processes and teamwork across the business Knowledge/Skills and Experience required ? Engineering graduate or equivalent experience/professional development in the field of engineering (any discipline) ? Experience of leading teams ? Experience of managing complex sub contracts and high value projects ? Strong commercial awareness and a demonstrable track record of delivering high value projects ? Effective networking skills and significant experience of customer interaction and effective customer feedback ?
