Job Title: Field Service Engineer - IT Break-Fix Location: Field based - Commutable to our Partners HQ in Leicester. Job type: Temp to Perm Salary, pro-rata: £18k - £25k PAYE plus expenses, dependent on experience Job Description; We're currently working on a number of opportunities for a very well respected IT organisation based in the Midlands. Our Partner has experienced significant and progressive growth over the last couple of years and therefore needs to make additions to their technical team. Currently offering services all over the UK, they have become known for quality, honesty and integrity within the IT industry. We've been asked to identify a number of highly motivated and customer focused IT Engineers who are looking to progress their careers. The role of a Field Service Engineer involves providing technical support, diagnostics and maintenance both onsite and remotely. Successful candidates will not only display a wide range of technical knowledge and troubleshooting but will also be able to operat e within strict timescales whilst covering many miles in the field. The job would ideally suit someone who has been working in IT installation, Retail or Windows looking to progress and move into a more permanent role. Duties and responsibilities; • 1st to 3rd line technical support assisting the service desk and other engineers on technical calls • On-site and remote support of customer faults • Site visits to assess, maintain and swap non-functional equipment • Installation and maintenance of Server, Storage and Networking hardware as and when required • Provide analysis and consultation based on customer requirements • Ability to diagnose problem causes and identify the most appropriate / robust fix • Taking responsibility for fault calls ensuring a solution is reached and completed with SLA • Follow company processes to ensure continuity for customers and colleagues at all times Skills & attributes; • Some previous experience of implementing Server and/or Storage and/or Networking maintenance within a field service team • Good general hardware knowledge • A flexible approach to work and being prepared to 'go the extra mile' to exceed customer expectations • Experience working within a customer facing role • Well organised with excellent spoken/ written communication skills • A confident ability to work in a fast paced environment.
