Responsible for mechanical breakdowns and planned preventative maintenance. The main objective of the role is to ensure that all equipment, systems and processes operate effectively, efficiently, safely and provide good plant reliability A fantastic opportunity is available for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join a leading innovative and forward thinking company in South East Leicestershire. The successful candidate will report into the Maintenance Supervisor and will be responsible for:- Investigating all plant and machinery breakdowns, determining root cause and carrying out all necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts Investigating failures in services, determining the root cause and carrying out all necessary repair work inclusive of obtaining spare parts as necessary. Carrying out project/modification work when necessary. Ensuring all plant/machinery records are kept up to date. Ensuring all engineering measures are carried out and recorded. Competently read and use mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic schematics to diagnose faults. Competent in the use of mills, lathes and drilling machines. Competent in fabrication of components for plant/equipmen In order to be considered for this role you will need to hold a minimum of a HNC in Mechanical Engineering discipline or equivalent qualification/experience, and post apprenticeship experience in an industrial environment. The ideal candidate will possess a good understanding of production plant/equipment and be willing to learn any new equipment that is brought into the production area or developed on the production unit. You will be self-motivated, able to work on your own initiative, unsupervised, and within a team, and, be customer focussed toward service and quality. Due to the nature of the role you will also be flexible, reliable and possess good time-keeping. Hours for this role are weekly rotating Shifts Monday to Friday:- Week 1: 6.00am - 2.15pm Week 2: 2.00pm - 10.15pm The salary for this role is £27K-£29K, dependent on experience.
