Day House Matron Location: Leatherhead The Matron would be responsible for the smooth day-to-day running of the House, supervision of the cleaning staff and oversee the general welfare of the pupils. Responsibilities will include: · Providing proactive pastoral and supervisory support within the House · Supporting the Housemaster/mistress with administration and daily running of the house · Management of the cleaning in the House · Supervise and produce reports on each daily clean · Monitoring the general wear and tear of the house, general tidiness and arrange for any repairs · Ensure the house is clean and well maintained at all times · At the end of each term (and half term) oversee the deep clean and ensure that lockers and changing rooms are tidy (and all kits are taken home) · Order and collect food supplies · Record and report any damage to maintenance · Assisting the Housemaster/mistress in completing the annual budget and House development plan · Helping new pupils settle into the House and wider school community · Assist with creating a friendly and happy atmosphere within the House · Assisting pupils through periods of uncertainty and difficulty – without being intrusive · Meeting with Housemasters/mistresses and Tutors to discuss concerns over pupil’s well-beings · Maintaining the daily diary, recording any relevant information · Liaise with the Medical Centre regarding any illness or accidents · Awareness of pupil’s behaviour · Monitoring the daily routines of the pupils including punctuality, registration, attendance to activities, school events, issuing town leave and ensuring that the ethos of the School and high standard of behaviour are maintained.
