Systems Administrator (Linux/Unix) My client is looking for experienced System Administrators to work in their Technical Services Centre. Consideration will be given to Systems Administrators with 3 years' experience working with Linux systems. All candidates should be enthusiastic, proactive team players, and able to work in a busy and sometimes pressurised environment. Key Responsibilities Operation and administration of 'high availability' Linux/Unix based platforms, services and associated tools Be responsible for availability, maintainability and scalability of platforms and systems under SysAdmin care Liaising with internal engineering and development teams to assist in upgrade, enhancement and maintenance of production, staging and lab environments Offer timely assistance to OSS, IT and customer support teams in a 3rd line role for the diagnosis and mitigation of incidents and problems related to platforms and services under management Liaise with 3rd party vendors and suppliers for to ensure that systems are fully up to date and appropriate support infrastructure in place Attend and contribute as required to internal Service Reviews, Capacity, Business Continuity and Infosec forums Be aware and conform to standards and best practice guides such as Required Skills - not all essential, the more the better. High Availability Linux/Unix - e.g. Solaris RHEL, Centos, Ubuntu, VMware ESXi Database - MySQL/MariaDB, PostgreSQL, NoSQL, Elasticsearch Scripting - Shell, plus either (Python / PHP / Perl) Protocols - TCP/UDP/IP, SMTP, SNMP, Ethernet etc Radius/DNS/LNS Open Source Tools, e.g. Nagios, Cacti, Zenoss, Smokeping etc Firewall/Security - Iptables/SSH/IPsec/TLS/SSL Mass storage techniques, DAS, SAN, WAN Good time manager able to focus on work in hand, meet schedules and time constraints Desirable Skills VoIP technology & Protocols, e.g, SIP/RTP, B2BUA, Session Border Control Automation tools, e.g. SaltStack, Puppet, Ansible, Satellite, Jenkins, etc Routing, Switching vendor technologies & environments, e.g. Cisco, Juniper Project management skills and familiarity with PM tools and process, e.g. MSProject, Jira etc Hardware - Dell, HP Servers and VMWare environments Telecom protocols - Q931, SS7, Megaco, MGCP, H248 Please apply for full details, Regards For More details please apply and send your CV to or call on 01173171304 This job was originally posted as
