We are looking to appoint Fee Earners to our litigated credit hire department. If successful, you would be part of a leading defendant credit hire unit. Keoghs is one of the leading providers of claims-related services to insurers, businesses and other suppliers to the insurance sector. Keoghs are a defendant law firm based in the North-West. Our offices are easily accessible in Horwich, Bolton via the M6 motorway and Horwich Parkway train station. Those who join the team would be working for an award winning credit hire department who strive to deliver the best possible solution for our clients and aim to remain the number 1 credit hire solution to insurer companies. Key Responsibilities: · Create initial case strategy following Client Guidelines and review of information available · Undertake discussions and negotiations with Insured, Insurer and Third Party Solicitors to pursue the rapid and appropriate settlement of cases and the apportionment of costs · Undertake Court Telephone Hearings to ensure progress is maximised and all actions have been undertaken to bring the case to settlement · Timely and accurate maintenance of all case management, billing and management information systems to ensure completeness of records and aid business decision making · Allocate funds to the appropriate client accounts as per agreed procedures to ensure the client and Keoghs receive appropriate payments · Dealing with correspondence and telephone calls · Undertaking periodic reviews of files in line with Client requirements · Updating reports · Meeting agreed performance targets · Ensuring files are kept within ISO 9001 guidelines · Provide written updates by email or letter to clients detailing case activity to ensure that they receive up to date and accurate information about progress when requested · To ensure compliance with the SRA Code of Conduct 2015 Recruitment Criteria: Essential · Previous credit hire experience as a minimum either defendant or claimant. · Experience of small claims and fast track matters · Previous experience of handling own caseload · Good standard of education – 3 GCSE’s grade C or above or equivalent including Maths, English & Science as a minimum. · Good telephone negotiation skills · Have an understanding of case law and litigation practice & process and CPO · Ability to use own initiative · Ability to plan and prioritise workloads · Excellent listening and verbal communication skills · Ability to make decisions · Ability to remain calm under pressure · Ability to follow work processes and keep to Strategy yet flexible enough to adapt to change · Proficient IT skills Desirable · Knowledge / experience of the litigation process (although not essential as we are happy to train) · Some knowledge of RTA · Experience of Indemnity Principles and CCFAs This job was originally posted as
