Director Chemistry and Materials Sciences Cambridgeshire Great opportunity to join a forward thinking and fast paced organisation and to lead a multi-site team of around 20 Ph.D. level scientists commercializing chemistries that enable breakthroughs in DNA Sequencing technology. You will participate in setting and communicating department strategy to support company vision and establish team goals in the context of the strategy and identifying new technologies. Education: PhD in Chemistry, Material Science, Nanotechnology, or a related field. Experience required Extensive industrial experience in Chemistry that could include (but is not limited to) nucleic acid chemistry, surface chemistry, polymers/fluoropolymers, separation science, bio-conjugation, formulation, nanomaterials, and/or semiconductor chemistry, quality management standards / systems (e.g ISO, FDA). Advanced understanding of metrology and surface characterization techniques, solid mathematics, statistics, and experimental design, is also an advantage. Candidates should also have demonstrated the ability to overcome technical challenges at the interface of physics, biology, chemistry and materials science in a fast-paced, environment within an interdisciplinary team setting, and possess demonstrated expertise in leading resolution of multi-disciplinary, cross-departmental technical and managerial challenges.
