This company are an established mechanical handling engineering company with over 65 years experience offering solutions throughout the industry. During this time they have designed and refined their products and service to improve the performance of conveyors to reduce the cost per tonne of material moved. They can offer a complete service, inspection, consultancy, design, problem solving and manufacture. This company are involved in many different areas of material movement (products & services) and are especially adept at providing heavy duty conveyor roller solutions, producing many successful designs including Series 2000, Series 6000 and BSH coping with tonnages ranging from 10 tph to 15,000 tph. These products are used and specified throughout the world. Job Role: To assist and learn the following Lathe Machines CNC Machines Press Machines General Machining duties General engineering duties Other duties as necessary. Apprentice Requirements Willing to learn Good work ethic Hardworking Punctual Reliable Rate of pay: £3.40 with regular reviews Hours of Work: Mon - Thurs 8 - 5 pm, Friday 8 - 1 pm Our client is looking to employ an apprentice who is keen to progress in the world of engineering and who has a real passion and desire to understand the workings of machinery and who has a flair for fixing and solving mechanical problems. The training will take place in our new academy in Dudley where you will be required to attend a 6 week programme prior to starting the apprenticeship and you will spend 2 days per week gaining your Level 1 Certificate in Engineering. On successful completion of this, you will move onto your apprenticeship where 1 day a week will be spent in classroom/workshop based learning to gain your Level 2 Diploma in Performing Engineering Operations and Diploma in Engineering and Technology and 4 days with your employer. On successful completion of your Level 2 Apprenticeship, you will then be given the opportunity to progress to our Level 3 Apprenticeship Programme. Our client will support the achievement of your qualifications and support with the development of your career and learning long term. Disciplines you will learn will include:- Carrying out engineering activities efficiently and effectively Effective use of hand and power tools Knowledge and understanding of metals and materials used in manufacturing How to fix and solve mechanical engineering machinery faults Understanding of electrical operations in machinery How components work and contribute to machines operation Health and Safety in the workplace The successful candidate must have a flexible, enthusiastic attitude with good team working ability. The ability to follow instruction and self-motivation is also a pre requisite. Good IT skills are also essential combined with a minimum of 5 GCSE's grade A - C including Maths and English or equivalent. This is open to 16-18 year olds.
