There is a current skills gap that requires thousands of new engineers in the forthcoming years. The UK rail industry offers genuine progression routes, and the opportunity to earn significant sums in a relatively short space of time. As a Railway Engineering Track Operative, you should: be physically fit have manual dexterity and a mechanical aptitude enjoy working outdoors be a team player be safety conscious have the ability to use automated and manual tools have good communication skills be able to pass a railway medical and drug & alcohol test (zero tolerance) have good hearing and eyesight, including normal colour vision. We currently have limited places available to complete over-ground Network Rail Personal Track Safety (PTS), Track Induction and Small Plant competency training, linked to current railway engineering vacancies with a London based employer.
