Junior Analyst Programmer Job title: Junior Analyst Programmer Reports to: Returns Analysis Team Leader Location: Bangor We have an exciting opportunity for a Trainee Analyst Programmer to join an expanding global company. This is a full time permanent position for an individual seeking an entry level position which will provide development and on the job training. The role of Trainee Analyst Programmer is to assist the Returns Analysis team in testing a game's performance. Once fully trained, you can expect to be developing tools which take the game data and generate statistical output using the parser framework. The successful Trainee Analyst Programmer will be responsible for: The generation of game simulation data as and when requested On-going maintenance of stored information on a range of simulators Working with senior staff and customers when problems arise with simulators Attending daily and weekly team meetings held by the Team Leader Storing all files and data with the use of subversion Completing tasks assigned by the Team Leader within a designated time frame Prioritising their own workload to ensure deadlines are met Identifying issues with data in relation to jurisdictional requirements Undertaking in house and external programming courses as and when provided Person Specification Essential Desirable Qualifications AS level or equivalent in Computer related subject Foundation degree or BSc in a numerate subject GCSE grade A - C or equivalent in Maths and (Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science) Computer related subject Experience Demonstrable knowledge of Microsoft Office Experience of Linux/Ubuntu applications, specifically Microsoft Excel Experience/knowledge of version control (subversion/git) Knowledge of Groovy/Java Experience of other programming languages (e.g Perl, C#/C++, PHP, Python etc) Regular expression (regex) skills General Ability to work with detailed accuracy and speed Problem solving skills Skills Ability to multi-task Numeracy skills Ability to follow guidelines to complete tasks Good communication skills (written and verbal) Personal Team player Takes responsibility for own personal development and Qualities Attention to detail uses own initiative Ability to work under pressure to strict deadlines Desire to learn programming skills in a working environment Committed to personal development and improving skills Trustworthy and dependable This job was originally posted as www.totaljobs.com/job/66874524
