A London local authority is looking for a interim Parks Manager to join it communities department. You will be required to lead, manage, review and develop the Parks Service including developing strategic plans for the service to meet the needs of the borough’s diverse multi-cultural community, contributing to the development of Council strategy and the delivery of Strategic Plan priorities.
You will be responsible for the effective management of the Parks Service, including staff and resources relating to parks, open spaces, parks buildings.

You will be overseeing the management and supervision of the Parks Development Officer, Parks Development Manager, Community Engagement Officer and the Park Rangers. Overall responsibility for developing activities and opportunities to retain existing park users and engage new park users; ensure that volunteering opportunities are promoted and developed and that voluntary groups and supported by the team.

We are looking for applicants that have an understanding of the legal and financial framework governing local government services, in particular in relation to Parks/Open Spaces. With a knowledge national strategic direction in relation to Parks/Open Spaces
