An exciting opportunity has arisen for an interim Buyer position (9-12 months maternity cover) based in Manchester city centre. Main duties of the buyer: Category Specialist for Facilities and Property Services Analysing Expenditure Working closely with suppliers Undertake and monitor the tendering, evaluation, placement and monitoring of contracts across all areas of spend within the organisation Benchmarking of supplier prices against their competitors Assist the Procurement Manager in promoting procurement services and value for money across the organisation Keep up to date with procurement practices and legislation Developing and conducting training to devolved budget holders across the organisation Support the introduction, development and implementation of the P2P System Participate and actively contribute in Category Management meetings Criteria for the buyer: Working knowledge of OJEU through experience of working within the public sector Excellent communication skills Ability to meet deadlines Proficient use of Microsoft office Experience of tendering and contract management Desirable for the buyer to have: Experience of working within a large organisation Degree or NVQ educated OR equivalent CIPS Previously developed and conducted training Please click to apply.
