We are currently recruiting for two Qualified Community Learning & Development Worker positions: one based at the Peterhead Community Centre and another at Fraserburgh Community & Sports Centre. This is an exciting opportunity to work in an area with the many development needs of a town, as well as the challenge of being situated in rural North-East Scotland. You have experience of working in the local community and of working with other agencies. As well as being a team player, you have a commitment to personal development and training. Ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is essential. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. Responsibilities Initiate, plan and lead actions to create opportunities for achievement through Learning and Community Capacity Building Be responsible for the day to day management of Community Learning & Development staff and volunteers Manage, organise and secure resources in order to deliver programmes and activities Support management through working in partnership with services, to implement performance measures to support robust performance monitoring at service and council level Contribute to the monitoring, evaluation and reporting of work using the Continuous Improvement Framework Responsible to ensure Risk Assessments are in place for all activities Ensure compliance with Council policy and with the professional expectations of the CLD Standards Council in Scotland Contribute to the financial planning and management of budgets and access additional funding This job was originally posted as
