Virtualisation Analyst/ Hatfield - £45-50k A market leading Infrastructure Services organisation is searching for a Virtualisation Analyst to join their IT infrastructure team of 45. Ideal candidates will have a technical background with qualifications in AWS. A good understanding and scripting knowledge of Windows and Linux platforms and servers exhibiting excellent problem solving and analytical skills. Key responsibilities Maintain the AWS environment, heath checks, cost optimization, introduction of new services and ensuring that best practice is followed. Educate the business to adopt a 'cloud first' ethos and following the IT strategy with regards to new services and solutions Provide 2ndline support for the storage/server/network virtualisation environment as it migrates to an Amazon Web Services environment Participate in the change projects, from an operational perspective, plan and build operational capability for both the current and future environments Contribute skills and expertise to resolve incidents, improve performance and availability, problem solve complex integration issues and implement automation for production and development. To work closely with the suppliers and systems integration partners to manage escalations and problem resolution, specifically with the application support team. Ensure the infrastructure is secure; manage both data and systems availability, access control and service continuity to agreed standards that stand up to audit scrutiny. Key skills and qualifications AWS skills, particularly but not limited to VPC, EC2, IAM, RDS, Elastic Beanstalk, Cloud Watch, Cloud Formation, S3. Will have a good understanding of both Windows & Linux server administration. Knowledge of scripting for Windows and Linux platforms. VBScript, Powershell & Bash. Have a broad understanding of storage, servers, virtualization, networks, security, end user computing back end infrastructure (Microsoft) Excellent problem solving and analytical skills ITIL qualifications, awareness of programme and project management A technical background with qualifications with AWS, VMware, storage solutions such as EMC, NetApp and Cisco virtual networks.
