Are you a Highways Area Engineer who is looking to take on a new challenge? Perhaps you're familiar with Highways Inspection and are ready to take a step into a more senior position? We are looking for an Area Engineer to jump on board our clients' team in Buckinghamshire. Who is our client? They're a large Highways Maintenance company who are looking for an experienced Area Engineer in Buckinghamshire to maintain effective relationships with the public, community and County/Parish/District Councillors, internal and external customers, while managing Member and Stakeholder expectations with integrity and professionalism. You'll attend member briefings, Local Area Forums or other such Area based events on behalf of the client to ensure the understanding of the Area is maintained. Responsibilities: Liaise in a courteous, open and professional manner with Council Members on the provision of information in the delivery of Area-based services for the client. Manage the expectations of Councillors and residents in relation to service delivery matters in particular budgetary and financial constraints. Undertake site visits to ascertain the root cause of Area based issues and determine outline solutions. Identify and raise reactive maintenance orders where highways defects have been identified. To provide onsite support to the clients network management functions/teams (i.e. Licensing, permitting, parking, etc.) and being aware of and monitoring current and potential highway related issues within the Area. Take ownership of the area by being aware of all highway related issues. Attend Area LAFs and Local Community Partnership meetings as agreed with the Team leader and Area Managers and assist in ensuring that actions are implemented within the required timescales. Provide support to the Highways Inspection team in undertaking highway safety inspections when and where required. Provide on-site support to the clients teams in the day to day operation of the highway network with an Area. Skills and Experience Essential: Experience of dealing with members of the public, including at public meetings. Required to be mobile throughout Buckinghamshire and therefore a valid driving licence and use of car if not provided. Relevant Area Engineering or Highway Maintenance experience and qualifications. Desirable: A level, HNC educated, or equivalent experience including GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths. Experience of managing the expectation of the public in the delivery service. Knowledge of Symology, Asset management and Routine maintenance management systems. Does this permanent Highways Area Engineer role sound like you?
