Quality Engineer required for a fantastic, innovative automotive manufacturing firm. As the Quality Engineer you will be instrumental in the development and positioning of the company as a World Class Automotive component supplier. As Quality Engineer you will be expected to support the board in driving the business to achieve higher productivity, lower quality concerns and a more effective organisational effectiveness. Key responsibilities will include: To assist the Quality Manager and Management Team on a day to day basis in the organization and achievement of all production requirements within the company in order to meet the requirements of the company and the customer. You will be expected to champion key issues and problems as they arise to stabilize the situation and turn problems into opportunities. Drawing resources from within the plant as required you will need to control and drive the recovery and improvement plans. Monitor and drive the quality department in the reduction of internal and external concerns. To champion a team to be the first point of contact for all quality related issues both internally and externally. Develop Quality Assurance, Continuous Improvement and Non-Conformance reporting as significant core competence/s of the business. Develop team skills and ensure all employees are trained, appraised and motivated. Implement all quality systems, i.e. QS9000, ISO14001, ISO/TS16949, IDMS or any additional systems required by our customers. Be responsible for coordinating a team to prepare and submit APQP, PPAP documentation to customers in line with QS9000 procedures including PSW, FMEA, Control Plans, Visual & Dimensional Aids, ISIR’s, Packaging Specifications, Process Flow Charts and Capability Studies. To manage the reduction of all forms of visible and non-visible waste in steering the company towards best practice production principles, lean manufacturing and cost control. To be successful in the role of Quality Engineer you will have the following skills and experience: Conversant with APQP, FMEA, MSA, Control Plans and SPC The ability to make measured improvements where practical and to instil a culture of continuous improvement and consistency. Experience within the Automotive Manufacturing environment preferred but not essential HNC/HND qualification within engineering related subject is preferred Please Note: This permanent position for Quality Engineer and is working days (Monday – Friday) with added company benefits.
