We are currently recruiting a permanent Business Analyst to sit within our IT team and play a key role in supporting Engineering Operations. The role holder will be based in our Stockport office. What does Excellence look like in this role? Identifies, analyses and solves issues within the business, collaborating with business and IS colleagues to implement innovative and cost effective solutions, using both technological or business change techniques as needed. Who will this role work with to achieve excellence? - All operational and central teams, as required - Suppliers, IT and non-IT, as required What needs to be done in this role to achieve this? - Identification of sound business solutions to deliver business improvements - Analysis of data models and databases, with the ability to work with large datasets to secure insight - Analysis of business processes, identifying and implementing ways to optimise and improve - Confidently deal with stakeholders at various levels - Collaborate across multiple business units - Deliver to time, budget and quality, in line with the project needs - Ensure that deliverables are transparent, visible and run in line with PRINCE2 - Customer and expectation management - Risks and Issues tracking, Progress reporting, Milestone Tracking, Governance - Ensuring that the business functions undertake the business change necessary to drive out the benefits, and in some cases facilitating this - Close liaison with system analysts in advance of initiating work to manage customer expectations - Representation of the IS function in meetings with operational and functional colleagues. Provision of high quality advice and guidance. - Improving business user understanding and use of IS solutions through coordination of training solutions to meet business training requirements - Improving strength of relationship between the business functions and IS through communicating clearly in non-technical terms. - Delivering solutions that are fit for purpose and deliver the business benefits to time and cost. What technical knowledge, skills and experience is required? - Experience of analysing complex datasets - Experience of driving data quality improvement - Ability to quickly understand complex technical systems and how they interact with business operations - Previous experience of complex change or transformation projects - Experience of formulating and delivering innovative IS/Business Solutions that deliver competitive advantage - Experience in project delivery, able to work independently and as part of a team - Proven ability to develop Business cases, functional specifications, management papers and end-user material - Experience in Process mapping, analysing and identifying improvements - Experience in running workshops and training sessions - Planning and organisaitonal skills - Change management skills -Strong influencing skills both internally and with clients - Understanding and appreciation for other functions/operations within a service business - Professional business analysis diploma preferred - Good working knowledge of available technologies and what can realistically be achieved - Ability to interpret and understand data and identify root cause to problems - Excellent communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. - Logical approach to problem solving What behaviours and personal competence is needed? - Makes decisions with an objective and clear reasoning - Acts with the appropriate level of urgency and prioritises accordingly - Encourages enthusiasm, commitment and team spirit to work better together - Focuses on ways to improve customer experience - Encourages and listens to feedback from customers and the team - Is visible and accessible to their team, colleagues and Management - Promotes that everyone has a part to play - Ensures partnerships across products with suppliers and customers - Provides customer with a range of solutions to deliver service that meets their requirements - Leads by example on positive safety behaviours What values do we hold as a company?
