A Section Rail Engineer is required to work for a main Rail contractor based in North Bristol. Responsible for utilities works associated with the demolition and reconstruction of a number of rail over bridges, you will manage the engineering requirements on a section of work within the structures team. Responsible for the production of Work Package Plans, you will also manage all site activity, while reporting on progress and providing support to site engineers. The Section Rail Engineer will be qualified to degree standard in Civil Engineering. With previous experience of working in a multi-disciplinary rail project environment, you will be familiar with Network Rail processes and procedures, as well as their systems and standards. Your previous experience will also have involved earthworks and setting out in a rail environment. With a strong proactive approach to leadership, you will in turn promote and encourage the team to work collaboratively, applying innovative and practical application. Able to deal in a calm and controlled manner, you will be enthusiastic and detailed in your planning, with high standards in HSQE. The client is a civil engineering rail contractor, now also part of a larger construction group. They are currently working on Filton Abbey Wood, which is a 4 Track Capacity Improvement design and build project. Works include, Track Renewals, the upgrade of existing railway structures such as bridge reconstruction for electrification clearance and the upgrade of two stations. This is an NR 12 Contract. The overall value of the works is circa £30 million.
