Senior Planner Job Description As a senior member of the planning function you will carry out project planning and control activities on either a major project or be responsible for a number of smaller projects. You will be a key member of the project team and support a Senior Project Manager and Project Managers in the successful planning and control of project delivery. You will also be expected to support the overall requirements of the business planning function and may be asked to mentor and coach more junior planners within the planning team. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Be the technical planning expert ensuring consistent application of standards and procedures, including templates and guidance and support to your project team • Develop and maintain plans in accordance with WCA project management, Planning Processes and Procedures • Work with the Project team to ensure project schedules are accurately developed and maintained and resource and cost loaded if required • Work closely with Site and Access Planners to ensure cohesion between these different activities and the main project schedule • Build and maintain close working relationships with client representatives and work collaboratively to find the most efficient and effective planning and controls solutions • Perform critical path analysis and advise of possible actions and areas of concern • Ensure that the periodic project reporting requirements are met for both internal and client through the provision of schedule delay and critical path analysis reports as required • Perform analysis and scenario modelling for any potential project change and be able to provide risks, issues, cost, resource and delay analysis • Perform continuous project integrity checks to ensure the integrity of the programme Reporting day to day to the Senior PM and reporting functionally to the Planning Manager.
