My prestigious client is a Global organisation and are looking to recruit a Planner to join Supply Chain Team. PRIMARY FUNCTION: The Planner will be responsible for creating and maintaining production orders to support the requirements of the business. The Planner will also support the Planning Supervisor in the identification and implementation of initiatives that will be primarily focused on achieving Inventory, build to schedule, On Time Delivery targets and driving overall improved efficiency. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: A. Establish and maintain effective relationships with the company’s internal customers in accordance with the ethical code and standards of conduct maintaining the highest level of professionalism at all times B. Create and maintain production orders in line with demand, material availability and production constraints. Ensuring materials are cost rolled before order creation C. Create and maintain purchase orders for inter-plant demands as necessary D. Create reports detailing manufacturing and capacity requirements for the plant to meet the demands of the business E. Maintain minimum manufactured material stock levels to meet the requirements of the business F. Review customer amendment requests (including changes to delivery dates and order content) and co-ordinate with customer service and production to implement and communicate changes G. Review engineering changes and take the necessary actions to communicate changes to production H. Review material supply issues impacting the production plan. Communicate to Customer Service any impacts on customer requirements I. Continually seek and identify areas for improvement, in line with the strategic direction of the organization with a view to improving service levels to customers J. Maintain material master record fields appropriate to the supply chain functions K. Ensure proper and professional commercial engagement at all times M. Perform other specific and general duties as required and agreed SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 1 – SAP experience would be desirable 2 – Excellent organizational and administration skills are essential 3 – Competent with Microsoft Office Package (Excel, Word, Outlook ) 4 – Technical Understanding or background would be an advantage (Mechanical / Electrical) ADDITIONAL INFORMATION: 1 – The ability to communicate at all levels internally and externally 2 – A flexible and Pro-Active approach to Daily Tasks 3 – The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines 4 – The ability to work on own initiative and be able to work as part of a team 5 – The ability to multi task and prioritize workload accordingly This is a Six Month contract which could potentially go Permanent for the right candidate.
