Role: Data Analyst - FinTech Location: Farringdon, London Annual Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 pro rata performance-related bonus Our client is a high-growth FinTech start-up with a mission to change the customer experience of insurance for the better by using social media and mobile. Role Objective Support the company international team with the analysis of data from various on-line sources to provide insights into insurance markets (consumer demand and insurer supply) across the world which will inform business decisions around product development and digital marketing activity for our clients Background The company is rapidly growing its international business by partnering with insurance companies across the world to assist them with generating increased revenues through digital marketing with a particular focus on generating new business through social media channels A key input to the early stages of these projects is the analysis of on-line search data which provides insights into how consumers are searching for particular insurance products in particular geographic markets and how insurers in these markets are catering to the needs of these consumers By providing insights into the disconnect between how consumers search for different insurance products and how insurers cater for this need, we can provide recommendations to our insurance partners on new product features and new digital marketing strategies The company will then use their technology platform to support these insurance partners in building a market leading digital presence that will enable them to compete effectively in competitive insurance markets. Key Deliverables The analysis of on-line search data to determine insights about how consumers search for different insurance products across different geographic markets (consumer demand) The analysis of on-line insurance web-sites to determine how effective insurers are at supplying consumer demand for insurance products The analysis of on-line search data to determine what search terms insurers are winning organic search traffic on in different geographic markets Review the top ranking insurance websites on local Google search engines to determine who is competing for consumer demand and how strong their proposition is Review relevant social media websites (e.g. Facebook) and on-line forums to size potential opportunities to launch the company model in new geographic markets Success Measures Accuracy of analysis Completeness of analysis Speed of analysis Comprehensibility of output Skills & Experience Requirements Graduate with up to 2 years’ experience of working as a data analyst Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for analysing large datasets Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organise, analyse, and interpret trends, patterns or correlations in complex data sets Experience of presenting results and insights in a clear, concise and unambiguous manner via either reports or presentations BSc in Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Information Management or Statistics Experience of using social media tools a plus Financial Services knowledge & experience a plus Second language a plus (particularly Spanish, French or Mandarin) Personal Qualities - Social Media Data Analyst Logical and methodical Thorough, accurate and with a strong attention to detail Pro-active and self-motivated Perseverant at problem solving Ability to work to strict deadlines and able to work under pressure People person who is comfortable working as part of a team but also able to work on your own if required Good interpersonal skills Good written and spoken communication abilities with the ability to present complex concepts to a non-analytical audience.
