Principal Java Developer – Upto £100,000 Location : London Salary : £85,000 - £100,000 Bonus Benefits Principal Java Developer (Java, Core Java, Agile, OO Design, Architecture, Spring, TDD, SCRUM) One of Europe’s largest technology companies is seeking a Principal Java Developer who is well versed and experienced in the field of Java Development alongside Architecture and Design duties. Within this specific role you will work as a Principal Java Developer in a highly agile progressive environment, with a high focus upon the processes of Test Driven Development (TDD) and SCRUM. You will have hands on development duties, but will also be responsible for introducing technologies into the stack. Additionally, you will also take on a large amount of architectural responsibility and will be a regarded as a technical authority. A solid understanding of the Fundamentals of Computer Science, coupled with an education in Computer Science or Software Engineering would be highly beneficial. (Data Structures, Algorithms, Tables, Binary Trees and other such areas) Responsibilities: - To act as a technical authority in a large development team. - Represent this European powerhouse at conferences and events. - Introduce new technologies and processes into the development team. - To improve upon and grow/scale existing systems whilst developing exciting and innovative features. - Designing, developing, testing, delivering and supporting a broad variety of systems. - Close collaboration with teams throughout the organisation globally in order to deliver un-paralleled solutions. - Input to overall Architectural and Design discussion and implementation. Requirements: - Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, whilst a PhD would be highly advantageous. - Experience of introducing technologies and processes. - Deep understanding of one or more OO Programming Languages, preferably Java (J2SE). Knowledge of languages such as JavaScript, C++, C#, Perl or PHP would also be advantageous. - Experience working in an agile environment and within a SCRUM methodology, preferably with experience working to a duration of 2-week sprint cycles. - Experience working upon high transactional, low latency or mission critical systems. - Strong verbal and written communication skills.
