Data Modeller . (This a 18 months FTC (Fixed term Contract )) Our client , based in Northampton but commutable from Bedford , Milton Keynes and Coventry are looking for a Data Modeller . They are a rapidly growing Multi Channel FTSE100 group with a diverse market proposition and customer base. Salary is competitive . Client are seeking a Data Modeller to help them document, in a structured and consistent way, the conceptual, logical and physical data models for a number of legacy systems and thereafter document the new Core System so as to assist in the data management and data conversion activities on Core Systems programme. This is a new role within Core Systems and is initially a Fixed term 18 months contract with all the benefits associated with being a perm employee during this time , to be reviewed at the end of the 18 months . Confident personality and previous experience on large data projects and previous data modelling experience. The role You will be expected to work with the legacy/as-is systems Data Analysts to understand and document where relevant business data is currently held, the current data mastering for the legacy systems (internal and external), the data and table structures using consistency of terms and definition types and classes. Documenting data structures should include the field type, definition, size, security levels, and logical interdependencies applicable to each field (upstream and downstream). You will also need to surface the primary, composite and foreigns keys that underpin the different types of relationships/joins/integrity within and between tables or data structures and their different levels of granularity in order to surface any issues with data integrity, data mapping activities and data transformations when using a structured ETL approach. Highlight any data normalisation or de-normalisation requirements in the data migration process as well as any data gaps found during the data modelling activities with either as-is or to-be systems It would be great if you had Innovative, logical and practical, you must have substantial experience within Large scale data modelling projects, ideally involving multiple data systems and data types as well as experience with large scale data migration projects, ideally involving multiple data systems and data types The skills they equire are: Strong data modelling and data analytics Data modelling and data re structuring across a wide range of available technologies.
