If you’re an ambitious professional with extensive security experience, here’s an exciting career opportunity in a unique environment. It’s your chance to join us here at Royal Museums Greenwich - o ne of the UK’s top 10 visitor attractions that welcomes more than 2.3 million people each year. With the National Maritime Museum, Cutty Sark, Royal Observatory and Queen’s House all set within a UNESCO World Heritage Site, this really is an amazing place to work. The sheer scope of our historic and world-renowned sites also makes this a hugely challenging environment for our security team. As a key member of that team, you’ll ensure that our visitors, staff, collections and buildings across the Museum are safe and secure at all times. That will include monitoring CCTV, fire and intruder alarm systems, deputising for the Duty Shift Manager and providing visitors with advice, guidance and information. So outstanding communication and customer service skills are important, coupled with a good knowledge of security systems and procedures. Some supervisory experience would be useful too, though it’s not essential. You should also have the flexibility to work a shift pattern of four days on, four days off, with 12 hour shifts covering 6.15am to 6.15pm and 6.15pm to 6.15am, including Bank Holidays. That equals a total of 42 hours per week. For a full job description and details of how to apply, please click on the apply button below.
