Torpedo is an award winning creative agency based near Oxford. We’re looking for an experienced IT & SysAdmin Manager to join our established team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly talented, creative and friendly team, supporting the delivery of a varied range of exciting marketing campaigns, websites and digital projects. You need to be an all-round IT expert ready to take responsibility for the complete IT infrastructure of the business including hardware and software (primarily Apple Mac), sorting out IT issues, networking, telephony and network security, plus work closely with our web development team to set-up, manage and monitor the web servers we run for our clients through third parties. Role & Responsibilities · Day-to-day system administration, management, support and maintenance of the IT infrastructure for the business including computer hardware, telephony, application software and operating systems. · Be the first point of contact for internal IT related issues and support users with technical advice and guidance, trouble-shoot and solve technical issues across the IT hardware, software and network access. · Ensure that the security of the IT systems, network, resources and information is set-up following best practice, maintained and tested on a regular basis in line with information security management procedures. · Manage the relationships with external IT service providers and suppliers. · Provision new desktops, laptops, mobile devices and other IT equipment for new employees or employees changing their roles. · Assist in training staff and new starters on their use of the company’s IT hardware, software and telephony systems. · Organise and manage a stock of IT equipment to allow quick response to common failures in IT infrastructure or urgent needs. · Track IT assets and organise recycling or decommissioning of IT equipment as required. · Keep up to date with emerging technology and the security threat landscape to help plan, assess, specify and introduce new IT solutions and improvements to existing systems. · Assist with setting company policies relating to the use, management and maintenance of IT systems, and ensure these are communicated to users and enforced. · Set-up, maintain and manage secure back-up systems and assist with defining and testing disaster recovery plans. · Management of deployment, migrations, upgrades, and maintenance of external web hosting servers, hardware and software. · Creating and maintaining system documentation where needed. · Working with the development team to solve technical problems on web servers and define technical solutions to client requirements. Technical Skills & Experience · Apple specialist with an excellent knowledge of Apple Mac OS and iOS, ideally also with hands-on knowledge of Apple servers. · Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Windows, Office365, Exchange, Active Directory, SQL Server and SharePoint. · Excellent troubleshooting and technical problem solving skills. Able to diagnose and fix hardware faults and software issues. · A thorough understanding of networks including routing, switching and understanding of networking topology. · Strong system administration skills including the setup, configuration and monitoring of servers, with in-depth experience of Linux and / or other Unix system administration and web based application deployments. · Experience on webservers would be desirable including working experience with cloud servers such as AWS (Amazon Web Services). · Experience of security related areas such as SSL Certificates, security monitoring, intrusion prevention, vulnerability scanning, penetration testing etc. · Trustworthy with the ability to prioritise tasks to cope with conflicting demands. · A confident manner with good communications skills. · Understand the importance of confidentiality, critical work and delivering promptly. · A positive, helpful attitude and the ability to remain calm and effective in all situations. · Flexibility in working hours.
