A Spot Weld Technician is required for an automotive firm based in Birmingham. As a Spot Weld Technician , you will gain direction and control from the Welding Engineer. The main role of the weld technician will be as follows: MAIN PURPOSE OF ROLE Ensure day-to-day quality/production targets are maintained on all robot cells (including re-pointing and repairs) Ensure day-to-day quality/production targets are maintained on all pedestal welders Ensure all poke yoke systems are in good working order and all challenge procedures are carried out Assist Project Engineers in the installation and commissioning of all robot cells Assist Project Engineers in the process capability of components being welded/riveted Assist quality on all customer concerns and implement 8D improvements PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Re-point/adjust robots as and when necessary to ensure quality and quantity Attend all equipment breakdowns and resolve/escalate problems where applicable Develop and maintain breakdown records on all process equipment Develop and maintain equipment TPM on all processes Modify equipment programs to maintain quality as and when required Continually look at ways to reduce costs through continuous improvement (cycle times/process methods) Assist when required with all project commissioning to ensure quality and run at rate is achieved Assist with preproduction trials to ensure all trials achieve objectives as and when required The Weld Technician role is commutable from West Midlands, Worcestershire, Staffordshire, Warwickshire and Birmingham.
