Tooling Engineer Our client is a global leader in the development and manufacture of hydraulic and electro-hydraulic controls for off-highway applications. With over 500,000 square feet and locations across the globe, including China, India & England, they are strategically located to provide best-in-class service to many of the largest earthmoving, agricultural and construction machine manufacturers no matter where they are across the globe. Position: Tooling Engineer Location: Runcorn, Cheshire Job Type: Full time, permanent Hours: 39 hours per week Salary: £11.62 per hour Responsibilities: - Set all special and standard tools for HMC usage on a daily basis - Ensure a hive of tools is kept in place to ensure the smooth operation of the shop - Document and train all personnel in standard setting procedures for all tools - Tool control, stock level checks, ordering etc. - Manage tool life, tooling usage, monitor results, using a structured approach to report findings - Inspect all new and re-ground tooling - Maintain drawing library of all tools - Liaise with tool suppliers to negotiate competitive pricing - Identification, justification and tracking / reporting of cost saving initiatives - As per lead hand as and when required - Evaluate inspection requirements for existing and new products - Train others and evaluate the use of. CMM, SPC - Ensure the documentation / PC control in all the above areas is maintained - Involvement in improvement projects as required About you: - Proficient level of IT literacy, particularly Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other Office products - Time served machinist, covering disciplines including milling, tuning, grinding, assembly and fitting - Significant experience of Tool Setting essential, preferably with Zoller experience - Standard tool grinding experience essential - CNC programme experience - basic understanding of Okuma OSP and Cincinnati Fanuc coding preferred - Ability to identify, document and track cost-savings initiatives required. - Experience of working as part of a project team required - Previous CMM experience preferred You may have experience of the following: Tooling Engineer, Tool Setting, Machinist, Milling, Turning, Grinding, Assembly Technician, CNC, Miller, Turner, Toll Grinding, CMM, SPC, Manufacturing, Fanuc, etc. This vacancy is being advertised by Easy Web Recruitment, the UK’s leading Online Recruitment Agency.
