Head of Information Services Central Belt This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a global organisation This is a new position working with the CIO of a Global organisation based in the heart of Glasgow. We are looking for a background within Manufacturing/Engineering or Consultancy. This role will play a key part with the management team and management of key stakeholders globally. Objectives: Deliver and maintain a cost-effective IT Service for the Group Communicate corporate plans and uphold policies and standards for acquiring, implementing, and operating information technology systems Liaise with divisional teams to ensure the IS platforms implemented by them are kept at a high level of operational readiness Maintain strong cyber security defences Assess and communicate risks associated with IT service and systems Keep abreast of the latest developments in Information Technology to ensure Company extracts maximum competitive advantage from this important foundation Work with internal resources and external partners to design a service fabric that delivers world-class IT to Company Measurements: Cost of IT service per user (Company employees) and per deployment (IoT) IT estate consistency Service desk performance Cyber security breaches User satisfaction Education and/or Experience Educated to Bachelor's Degree standard in Computer Science or equivalent related discipline Minimum five years' experience of delivering an IT service platform to an international user base Experienced at working with geographically-distributed teams and stakeholders Proven ability to apply IT in solving business problems Must demonstrate empathy and an ability to lead a strong technical team across a number of sites along with the capacity to clearly present complex ideas to non-technical parties ITIL or equivalent IT service management accreditations Experienced in the use of Hybrid Cloud Computing approaches: particularly with Microsoft Azure Takes a "Best Practices" approach - benchmarks to competitors and other industries to identify and apply best practices to company advantage Organisational Buy-in - effectively builds commitment and excitement, and wins support and resources for company initiatives at multiple levels both inside and outside the organisation Team Leadership and People management skills - fosters teamwork and facilitates conflict resolution. Establishes conditions for high performance teamwork and ensures effective team processes are implemented down through the organisation. The following background / experience would be preferable: Experience of IT service transitioning Experience of working in a highly federated, matrix organisation Product Knowledge; Microsoft Azure, Office 365, Lotus Notes Good working knowledge of ERP platforms (SAP preferred), PLM platforms (TeamCenter preferred) and CAD platforms (SolidWorks / NX preferred) We are currently shortlisting please send your CV if you match the criteria outlined in the advert.
