Epson are recruiting for a Pre-Sales Support Engineer to support our local sales, pre- and post-sales teams across EMEAR, focussing on technical support and customer opportunities. This will include understanding customer requirements, along with third party software and solutions, testing and configuring a solution based on our Business products portfolio. Epson provide integrated solutions which meet and exceed customer needs and also further enhancement from market feedback/insight into the product development cycle. Product groups include: in-house label printing, document management, retail & hospitality, banking and airline solutions. Key Responsibilities: Provide pre- and post-sales technical support to regional pre-sales/ sales structure, with product information, RFP's, updates, in line with launch and throughout product life cycle To develop an understanding of customer's requirements, and formulate a product / system proposal based on Company sales strategy and product potential Engage in active communication with regional pre-sales / sales structure in line with commercial requirements Be the escalation point to Pre-Sales Support Group in Japan related to technical support requests unable to be resolved locally Provide technical support expertise to sales exhibitions and events, either managed centrally or in conjunction with region Test bespoke demonstration software / hardware documentation for Sales departments/events Test and document custom software solution before customer integration Evaluate new products / software, identifying potential problems and provide input to PM team Track all technical issues in the Incident tracking tool and adhere to key performance indicators Key Skills and experience: Applications are welcomed from candidates with experience as a Systems Engineer, Field Application Engineer, Technical Support of Hardware Systems, Software Developers and Computer Science graduates having completed a 2-3 years' experience in a related business area such as technical support: Essential: University degree or equivalent qualification in Engineering/Electronic/Computer Experience of providing technical support; including networking and solution integration Numerate, analytical and logical approach to problem solving Ability to provide effective troubleshooting for customer (internal/external) issues such as analysing various logs/codes Good communication skills both verbal and written Fluent in English, but other languages advantageous Desirable: Computer literate with knowledge of programming languages like C/C++, Java and Assembler or API/SDK integration experience Understanding of web services (PHP, XML, CSS, scripting in Perl, basics of databases, application servers) Natural team player who understands the importance of both their own and their teams success Experience with JavaPOS, OPOS, UPOS, ESC/POS Experience of using multiple operating systems, such as Windows (all versions) and Linux, as well mobile operating systems, such as iOS and Android Benefits include: Competitive salary package, Pension, Private Health care plus many other benefits including a laptop and mobile phone.
