DESIGN MANAGER LOCATION KENT SALARY £60,000 Package WATER MEICA EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL The Job Working alongside the Framework Manager to ensure robust design procedures are established and maintained Manage a small team of mechanical and electrical designers, ensuring key deliverables are met to time and budget, and being accountable for all design team outputs. Manage the scoping and outline design of mechanical and EICA systems and processes on a variety of clean water treatment works and pumping stations Maintain safety at the forefront of all design decision making and be proactive in embedding safety into all design developement Lead in scope challenge, innovation and knowledge sharing initiatives Coordinate with the project delivery teams such that the design team are fully integrated into the contract delivery model Continually liaise with our client to ensure standard and job-specific specifications are understood and adhered to. Carry out site visits and gathering of site specific information Design checking, reviewing and approval Attendance and participation at HAZOPs Management of multiple projects at any one time Able to be flexible and provide assistance to project delivery at all levels as the need may arise Coordinate with the project delivery teams and senior management team to ensure design is considered through the project life cycle Identifying scope change through the design process and manage this alongside the project manager Essential (minimum required): Desirable to have more than 10 years' experience in the water sector Experienced in working on projects within the water sector in a design management role Experienced in working with existing water treatment works and processes on Mechanical plant and equipment, HV and LV Electrical switchgear and control instrumentation and systems. Experienced in managing civil, mechanical and electrical interfaces Appropriate Engineering Qualifications Experience in the management of Civil and MEICA procurement, installation and commissioning To apply for this position, candidates must be eligible to live and work in the UK.
