Our client, a major player in the service of mechanical and electrical systems for the utilities, manufacturing, production and industrial engineering solutions from hydraulics, pneumatics, machining, compressors, turbines, gearboxes, motors, pumps, alternators and motor rewinds is looking to recruit a Mechanical Service Manager / Workshop Manager within their Daventry Branch. With a vast service capability they are able to supply specific high quality services to clients such as service, maintenance, installation and onsite repair to all offshore, process companies and manufactures within the local area and across the UK using there many national service centres. The Role This role requires applicants who are able to manage a highly trained team of mechanical engineers based on site and also in the field. Managing the workloads, materials, manpower and equipment to allow the company to function effectively both in the workshop and in the field. This role requires the applicant to lead by example, reviewing staff needs and training requirements with the Branch Manager, assisting with development and training packages for all staff. Working within the workshop to ensure that all health and safety requirements are adhered to and that best practices are shown. Scheduling work and jobs, efficient use of manpower and resources. Assist the Management team with costing’s for jobs and the all costs are correctly identified and work has been completed to quotes. You will also build long and fruitful relationships with our client’s key customer base, built through trust and credibility, developing branch relationships through new and existing clients. The Person The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a strong management or supervisory experience within engineering with a strong hands-on working knowledge of machining, hydraulics, pneumatics, compressors, turbines, gearboxes motors, pumps, alternators, controls or generators. Applicants working within this industry presently would be best suited to this role as would applicants looking to return to this market. Applicants should be in a similar level of role, managing teams of engineers, looking after the operational structures of service and maintenance of heavy engineering. Experience of managing a team of engineering staff is the most important part of this role, as is the ability to work autonomously and under your own steam. A steady career history will aid to the credibility of the successful applicant’s application. You will receive a package based on a £30-36k basic salary, Car, Pension and 25 days holiday.
