IT Helpdesk Engineer - Cwmbran, South Wales - £18,000 Introduction An incredibly exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Helpdesk engineer to join a world leading aerospace equipment company. Specification As an IT Helpdesk Engineer you will be focussed on call logging and 1st line assistance, both in person and over the telephone. The role is based Cwmbran but you will have the opportunity to remotely support a variety of sites UK wide. The role will involve logging faults and changes into a helpdesk and performing basic first time fixes, and implementing documented procedural changes,. You will be the first point of contact on the Cwmbran site for around 850 users and will be expected to respond to calls via telephone, voicemail and web. There is also a requirement to perform analysis of the calls raised on the helpdesk, looking for trends in the calls. There will be a requirement to be involved in the IT procurement process, ensuring that the hardware and software requests are dealt with promptly and efficiently. Responsibilities: Ensuring calls are logged with correct and complete information to ensure the relevant engineers have all the necessary details to resolve calls. Implement documented first time fixes Process procedural changes Produce statistics from the helpdesk and be involved in helpdesk analysis Skills Knowledge of Windows Operating systems (ie: Windows 7) Knowledge of Active Directory Knowledge of Lotus notes would be advantageous but not essential Good customer service skills If you are interested in this position, please apply directly or send your up to date CV to Michael Coe at michael.coe (at) This job was originally posted as
