Financial Skills Officer Clerkenwell Salary: Circa £30,000 per annum Permanent – 35 hours per week is currently advertising for a Financial Skills Officer on behalf of their client, a leading social housing provider based in Clerkenwell. Working from the Farringdon office, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary team within the Community Investment and Care Team. You will be responsible for assisting individual residents with managing their money and responding to welfare changes as well as inputting into the Group’s wider approach to financial exclusion issues. Taking referrals from colleagues across the Group, you’ll be contacting residents who would benefit from support and advice. An interesting and varied role, it involves managing a busy caseload and working closely with residents to provide support that is tailored to individual needs. As well as helping people manage their finances, you’ll provide financial capability advice, and undertake income maximisation and benefit entitlement checks when appropriate. Building links and working in partnership with outside advice and support agencies as well as community-based organisations, disseminating knowledge amongst staff and supporting Group events in publicising services all are part and parcel of the role, as well as a degree of travel to other offices to attend meetings and training events. Candidate Requirements: For this Financial Skills Officer role you will: Have experience of supporting individuals face-to-face using a person-centred approach and a good knowledge of issues relating to indebtedness and financial/social exclusion are a must. Have a good local knowledge of existing support services and networks (advantageous) Be Numerate, IT literate and with a good eye for detail, you will be committed to ensuring confidentiality, have excellent communication and interpersonal skills and will be able to prioritise a busy workload to meet targets and deadlines. Be willing to travel and sometimes work out-of-hours in order to get the job done. Benefits include: A salary of Circa £30,000 p.a. Great holidays – 23 days, plus public holidays.
